The Incredible Hulk

  • Title: The Incredible Hulk
  • IMDB: link

Movie comic book heroes beware there is a new monster in town and he’s a creature to reckon with. This summer blockbuster certainly follows up the Iron Man hit with no shame. The Incredible Hulk blows the previous failed attempt away and leaves the audience in astonishment with a strong leading man, Edward Norton.

The Incredible Hulk simply can’t fail as this summer’s blockbuster with such a powerful cast, impressive CGI and ball-busting action scenes. The Hulk is a force to beat this summer and is accompanied with such greats as Iron Man , The Dark Knight , Hellboy , Hancock and Wanted . What did we ever do to deserve such a summer of decadent viewing pleasures of action, violence, super heroes and happy endings?

Mother of Tears (Terza madre, La)

  • Title: Terza madre, La
  • IMDB: link

Mother of Tears is such a tragedy, a film that is neither good nor well done in the bloody antics. Baby’s being thrown off of bridges and chopped up, really bad gore graphics with hatchets and butcher knives, weird characters that have no consequence and a main character that takes way too long to find out her destiny and hook up with Mr. Right to stop the entire nightmare. In Europe an ancient urn is found and opened releasing the Mother of Tears, top witch bitch of the world. In accordance with that, all witches begin to arrive in Rome for one free-for-all blood fest. Citizens of Rome start doing odd things like killing one another, committing suicide and all types of violence, it’s up to Sarah Mandy (Asia Argento ), a young unknowing white witch/artist, to stop the whole evil lot. She has powers that have been passed down from her mother and she’s freaking out cause these powers are starting to kick in, and so are the voices. She keeps hearing a voice telling her what to do to stay safe; her mom is assisting Sarah from beyond the grave to stop the Mother of Tears from conquering and taking over. At first police detectives don’t believe Sarah after her story of a monkey and three freakish characters that slaughtered her friend, so they spend most of their time hunting for Sarah instead of helping her. Finally, when one is captured and sees the truth, he does all he can to assist to save his own life.

Sex and the City

  • Title: Sex and the City

If you are in any way shape or form a fan of the series then your going to love this. It’s like 3 episodes rolled into one and a bigger screen. Same characters, more problems, strong friendships, sex, love and more just for our fanatic viewing pleasure. Many would say it was a little long, but a true fan will feel like they have just indulged in a day at the spa and a trip to a runway fashion show with their favorite BFFS from Sex and the City. It’s like the show had never been canceled, they picked up 3 years later with a lot of the same problems, plus a few new ones to boot and pretty much solved them all by the end. I wouldn’t say that it’s all buttoned up neatly, I could easily see a return of the series or another film. The great thing about Sex and the City, it’s life, at least in some fictious/realist way, and we all no that life never ends.

The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones, Vol. 3

  • Title: The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles – Volume Three
  • tv.com: link

Travel around the world and be an undercover and on the inside with Indiana Jones in this glorious collection of DVD’s. Just like the first two releases the third installment has us going on one adventure after another and running into some of the most famous people who shaped our world today. Season 3 slows down a bit and gives Indy plenty of time for the ladies. Interesting how every episode he finds time amongst his secret agent status and historical events to woo many a girl and even get engaged or have planned to be engaged to all of them.

Sadly the TV series had to end sometime and it is quite obvious that the producers were running out of steam by the end. A couple of lack luster editions between The Scandal of 1920 and The Hollywood Follies pretty well stopped the train. Yes, the two are entertaining additions, but not nearly as adventurous or cunning as the others. Well maybe there is one other that stood out like a sore thumb, which would be his little tryst with Vlad, the Impaler himself. I watch thinking, okay where’s the hoax, just like with the Scooby Gang I was waiting for the mask to be pulled off and the string found. I certainly must say Masks of Evil was quite interesting and odd.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

”Hey, lady! You call him Dr. Jones!”

indiana-jones-and-the-temple-of-doom1984…are you serious? Damn I’m old; I had no idea it came out that long ago. Great thing is it’s just as entertaining today as it was when it released. Brilliant how Indiana Jones flicks can hold the test of time and, with the next installment, it’ll be like they never skipped a beat. I’m going to share a little secret with you, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is my favorite selection of the series so far. I know it didn’t get a big ass welcome like Raiders did, but I like my films a little darker and not all “PC”. The massive vampire bats, slithering eels out of a python carcass, mmm_mm_yummy monkey brains, crunchy bugs and kids having their hearts ripped out of their chests, now doesn’t that sound like a hell of a good time to you?
