- Title: Once Upon a Time – Family Business
- wiki: link
Continuing this season’s Frozen storyline, “Family Business” doesn’t focus on the Snow Queen (Elizabeth Mitchell) or Elsa (Georgina Haig) but on Belle (Emilie de Ravin) who we learn has been keeping a secret concerning Elsa’s lost sister Anna (Elizabeth Lail). Consumed with guilt, Belle uses he dagger (which I forget whether it’s real or not at this point) to force her husband into helping her not aware that what she’s looking for is already in his possession. Flashbacks to the episode not only offer a look at Belle’s trip to Arendelle and the tragic meeting with Anna but also provide the moment where Belle first learned the name Rumpelstiltskin (Robert Carlyle).
When not focused on Belle, the rest of “Family Business” focuses on the continued search for the Snow Queen and uncovering her connection to Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and her plans for that super-powered magic mirror which Belle gets a first-hand look at. From what the mirror does to Belle it seems dark days are ahead for everyone in Storybrooke.
Belle’s actions in this week’s episodes, both in current and flashback storylines, remind us that she may be a better match for Mr. Gold than anyone suspects. Aside from Belle’s past, the revelations are mostly minor this week although we do learn that the Snow Queen is indeed Elsa’s aunt and that the woman’s own lost sister Helga who bears a striking resemblance to Emma Swan suggesting one possibility of why Ingrid is so obsessed with the Savior.
