Transformers Prime:Beast Hunters - Synthesis

As the captured Ratchet (Jeffrey Combs) pretends to help Shockwave (David Sobolov) and Knock Out (Daran Norris) work on developing a stable version of Synthetic Energon, Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) tracks Raf’s (Andy Pessoa) makeshift Laserbeak drone back to the Decepticon warship. Unfortunately, neither Ratchet’s escape attempt nor the drone, which is shot down by Starscream (Steve Blum)  before giving away the Decepticon’s location, are successful.

No longer of use, Megatron (Frank Welker) turns Ratchet over to Predaking (Peter Mensah), but although the Autobot’s escape attempt was stymied he is able to save himself by letting the Predacon in on the truth of why Megatron had the rest of his kind exterminated. While Ratchet calls in the cavalry, Predaking takes out his aggression out on the Decepticons, including going toe-to-toe with Megatron.

The Megatron/Predaking battle is the highlight of the episode, but Knock Out’s bruised pride at being ordered around by the Decepticon’s guest also provides some fun moments (as does Starscream’s realization that his epic destruction on the Autobots base wasn’t quite as successful as the Decepticon believed).

As the episode comes to a close the Autobots arrive on the Decepticon warship setting up the battle for the fate of Earth as Megatron prepares to use the reconstructed Omega Lock to terraform the planet into another Cybertron. With the fate of the planet in the balance, next week should provide plenty of action.
