- Title: Exploding Kittens – Tartar Recall
- IMDb: link
After a much shorter intro to how Beelzebub ended up on Earth in the form of Devilcat (Sasheer Zamata), “Tartar Recall” gives us the battle between Godcat (Tom Ellis) and Devilcat on Earth, complicated by the cuddly and furry frames. The battle, and unexpected bonding between the two attempting to research Armageddon through the oeuvre of Bruce Willis, is quite fun. The human story which bleeds over into the battle between the cats involves Marv’s (Mark Proksch) attempt to put on a play in the story by his daughter Greta (Ally Maki) unionizing the workers into demanding minimal rights.
The episode also offers a B-story in which Abbie (Suzy Nakamura) and Travis (Kenny Yates) go through the various stages of Heck looking for Travis’ idiot friend Aidan (Betsy Sodaro) who was killed in the first fight between the two cats. The various levels of torture are somewhat interesting but while the other stories end up overlapping this one does end up feeling like filler. However, the addition of Devilcat to the show does provide the show something the first episode was missing.
