Despite his prominence on the cover, Snake Eyes doesn’t get a big role in G.I. JOE: A Real American Hero #306. In fact we only get the Joe on a training course shooting some targets with an even shorter cameo from Scarlett. That’s indictive of the rest of the issue as well with jumps around quite a bit, almost like a checklist making sure to hit several plot points that may play off at a later date.
The most important of these are Serpentor Khan‘s attempted assassination of Zartan setting up a cyborg duplicate of him to make a deal with Destro and the Baroness. We also get Revanche discovering Serpentor’s betrayal and making a double-cross of their own replacing the Cobra chips attempting to prevent Revanche gaining control of the soldiers without Serpentor’s knowledge. And we get the early moments of an infiltration team of Helix, Wet-Suit, Muskrat, and Multo looking for more intel on what Cobra is up to.
