NCIS: Hawai'i - Spill the Tea

After teasing us with their existence for much of the season, “Spill the Tea” introduces us to NCIS: Elite. Let’s just say I’m not impressed. Kai (Alex Tarrant), Jesse (Noah Mills), and Lucy (Yasmine Al-Bustami), who returns to steal the best moments of the episode, are read into the the squad’s mission when their star witness is poisoned in their secret facility (basically failing their single objective of keeping him alive). We get some, mostly good-natured, competition between the two squads as NCIS: Hawai’i identifies the method in which Alexi Volkoff (David Meunier) was poisoned and then track down the team who committed the crime.

Given the two teams, we get Hanna (LL Cool J) and John Swift (Henry Ian Cusick) both getting substantial roles in the episode along with the members of Elite who barely stick around long enough to explain what their name stands for. The other major guest of note is the dead scientist’s lab assistant (Rachel Marsh) who the team “saves” from the hit squad only for Tennant (Vanessa Lachey) to confirm she’s actually a baddie (which is quite obvious to everyone but apparently NCIS the moment she first appears on-screen). Not only does she manage to kill NCIS: Elite with minimal effort but also makes off with a sample of the super bio-weapon heading into next week’s episode.
