007: For King and Country #5 opens with a trigger-happy 009 and an assassination attempt James Bond barely survives in an action sequence that cover several pages. Unfortunately, Agent Clark isn’t so lucky. After that, it’s up to Bond to rally the troops once more in another attempt to take down Fromm and Myrmidon with his small support group of Felix Leiter, Linus, and Gwendolyn Gann, but with so much on the line, who can Bond truly trust as the series moves one-step closer to its conclusion?
The plan involves an infiltration of Myrmidon by Bond and Gann as only Bond can. The plan is outlined by the group while the panels show the real-time movements of Bond and Gann running it. While it mostly goes to plan, Bond isn’t ready for the unexpected actions of 009 but he is, sadly, all too ready for the betrayal of one of his oldest friends setting up a final showdown for the mini-series concluding issue next month.
