The April 7th edition of AEW Rampage was notable for a wide range of styles in matches including Hook vs. Ethan Page, Darby Alin vs. Lee Moriarty, and Anna Jay vs. Julia Hart.
Highlights:
- The women main evented the show starting with a video package for Julia Hart and Anna Jay prior to the match. Strong back-and-forth between the pair with Julia getting the win with the Black Mist. Nice moment for both all-original women to shine. The match also fit nicely against the opening match for Battle of the Belts VI which would have a House of Black tie-in.
- Hook defeated “All Ego” Ethan Page in a No Disqualification Match that saw the two brawl around the area and both get put through a table before all was said and done. Page is taking some loses, but getting more screentime. Another quality win for Hook.
- The Acclaimed teamed with Angelo Parker and Matt Menard in an eight-man tag having some fun beating some local talent before the JAS members turned on the former champs for not accepting their offer to join. Lots of goofiness to get to the obvious conclusion and start an actual rivalry between the two teams.
- Darby Alin defeated Lee Moriarty which led to Darby being jumped by Swerve Strickland and his new hired help Brian Cage (certainly an upgrade from his former henchmen).
- Skye Blue was announced to be All Elite.
