Along with continuing the flashbacks of Jason Todd as Robin and the friction with Batman that was there from the start, Batman: The Adventures Continue #10 also finally offers us the character in costume as it delivers our first look at the Batman: The Animated Series version of the Red Hood.
Most of the comic remains in flashbacks, narrated by Alfred, explaining the tensions between the second Dynamic Duo including pointing out Jason’s propensity to take harsher measures on Batman’s masked villains, including endangering the life of the Scarecrow which finally expanded the rift between the two. Although alluded to, the issue does not show the Joker‘s brutal assault on Robin and suggests, in this version, Jason may not have actually died but merely slipped into the shadows and began plotting his revenge.
Todd and Batman’s interaction doesn’t reveal details of the Red Hood’s plans, but it does make the Dark Knight Detective aware how much the character has changed choosing to challenge Batman and impose his own kind of justice on Gotham City.
