- Title: Stargirl – Shiv Part Two
- wiki: link
With Courtney (Brec Bassinger) sidelined given her injuries at the hands of Cindy Burman (Meg DeLacy), it falls on the rest of the team to pick up the slack in “Shiv Part Two.” Pat (Luke Wilson) takes steps to explain Courtney’s injuries while her friends look to uncover the truth about who Cindy’s parents really are. The later ends up in an undercover mission for the unusual pairing of Pat and Beth (Anjelika Washington) as father and daughter (when forced to create a cover story on the spot). It also leaves Courtney alone when Cindy comes calling. The last two episodes have turned me around on the mean girl with far more going on than most realize, although her father’s disapproval of her recent actions makes you wonder how much of Cindy we’ll see in the near future.
In terms of larger storylines, the latest episode gives Cindy’s father (Nelson Lee) a name and a little backstory while also foreshadowing secrets surround Cindy and her mother (Lesa Wilson). For the second episode in a row, a hero discovers secret tunnels underneath the city, although neither Beth nor Courtney stumbled upon the ISA’s headquarters. Cindy playing with Courtney before revealing she figured out Stargirl’s identity is well-played. It also forces the injured Courtney into action believing her friends are in danger. And while I’m still not sold on Henry (Jake Austin Walker), the episode hits the right notes while exploring the teen’s fear and confusion as his powers begin to bloom. It appears the Injustice Society may have all they need to continue their plans after all.
