- Title: Hawaii Five-0 – A ‘ohe mea ‘imi a ka maka

This year’s Hawaii Five-0 Halloween episode offers a pair of unusual mysteries. The first involves a murder Jerry (Jorge Garcia) believes was committed as a child. Reunited with a group of his childhood friends, Eric (Andrew Lawrence), and Noelani (Kimee Balmilero) the group looks for a body buried decades ago by an axe-wielding killer only Jerry believes exists. While the premise itself isn’t bad, it does feel a bit late in the game to introduce a murder that has been haunted Jerry for his entire life this late in the show’s run.
The other storyline features Five-0 looking into a murder drawn by a young girl with no possible connection to the crime. When it turns out that the 5 year-old’s not-so-imaginary friend is the actually witness it becomes clear that Five-0 is looking for a killer who has murdered at least three women and allowed his daughter to watch each crime. Tani‘s (Meaghan Rath) quick thinking allows the group to track the killer down, but news on another case destroys any chance of a celebration as the test results come back for Adam’s gun. As expected, the gun is the murder weapon. The real question now becomes did Adam commit the crime or is this yet another frame job (a storyline the show has repeatedly used in the past)?
