- Title: The Flash – Don’t Run

Christmas comes to Central City, but no one is in a celebratory mood as Barry (Grant Gustin) is abducted by the Thinker and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) is kidnapped by Amunet Black (Katee Sackhoff). With limited resources at their disposal, Iris (Candice Patton) is forced to choose which one becomes the priority for the team to recover. While the episode is apparently the last we will see of Clifford DeVoe (Neil Sandilands), it’s far from the last we’ll see of the Thinker whose need for new metahumans, one in particular, is finally explained.
“Don’t Run” works well as a mid-season cliffhanger with the various levels of the Thinker’s machinations finally bearing fruit. While I still have some doubts to some of Barry’s actions leading up to the moment of the episode’s end, they do box the Flash into a corner and force the Flash into an entirely new kind of fight. Given all the glimpses we’ve seen of the Thinker’s evil lair, and the maze-like quality of the Flash’s prison, I am surprised the episode spends so little time there. As for Caitlin, the storyline continues to play on her double-personalities, although Amunet actually needs the scientist and not the ice queen for part of DeVoe’s plan.
