I may have enjoyed Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #30 a bit more if the entire story hadn’t been a misdirect. That said, fans of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps should still have fun with the Green Lantern’s return to Earth to investigate Superman‘s recent encounter with Parallax and news that Sinestro is alive in the anti-matter dimension on Qward.
While Hal’s fight of a Parallax-controlled Superman turns out to be all in the Green Lantern’s mind, the action is still pretty solid until the hallucination is broken. Hal’s reasoning of who is altering his reality leads into next month’s return of Hector Hammond, who apparently needs his old nemesis’ help.
The best part of the comic, however, comes early on with the good-natured rivalry between Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, and (the worst Green Lantern ever) Kyle Rayner jockeying for position to be the one John Stewart chooses for the mission to Earth. Hal gets the job, much to the dismay of his fellow Lanterns. Suck it, Kyle. For fans.
