- Title: Castle – Private Eye Caramba!

The misadventures of Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) Private Investigator continue in the latest episode. So bored by his lack of interesting cases our writer has begun narrating to an empty office when fate, with the help of his wife, sends an assignment his way. While investigating the homicide of telenovela star, Beckett (Stana Katic) decides to send a friend (Daya Vaidya) of the victim to Castle who might be able to help the actress locate the $500,000 borrowed purse the victim had in her possession prior to her death.
Doing fairly well to keep our of the murder investigation Castle still winds up in deadly danger twice in the episode as both his case and the murder investigation by Beckett, Esposito (Jon Huertas), and Ryan (Seamus Dever) uncover mysterious clandestine meetings and the hand-off of a secret (and missing) flash drive with the daughter of a foreign dignitary (Nazneen Contractor) on the night of the murder.
Even while searching for something as innocuous as a missing purse “Private Eye Caramba!” underlines the fact that Castle is certainly in over his head when it comes to the danger the writer can so easily wander into. The episode continues to have fun with the detective theme offering more Castle narration (which leads to a steamy, if interrupted, sequence with his wife), and the literal cost of doing business by paying for information. Beckett seems to suspect Castle may give up the detective game on his own, but if that’s not the case the show is going to have to deal with potential danger he keeps walking into unprepared. And, as a final note, the episode also mentions Castle’s disappearance which began the season (I’d almost forgotten my disappointment) suggesting the show may be readying to ramp up the story in the coming weeks (which I have very mixed feelings about).
