- Title: Pretty Little Liars – Last Dance

News that the Liars have be uninvited to both their senior prom and graduation by a school board terrified of putting other students in harms way doesn’t sit well with any of the girls. The pseudo-prom the Liars‘ mothers throw for them in Hastings barn does give the some comfort, but when A lures Alison (Sasha Pieterse) to the high school Aria (Lucy Hale), Hanna (Ashley Benson), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Ezra (Ian Harding), and Toby (Keegan Allen) all follow.
Setting up next week’s summer finale, and the “unmasking of Charles,” the episode finds a way to give the girls at least a taste of their high school prom despite the dangers surrounding them. The late arrivals of Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) and Sara (Dre Davis) allow all four Liars to have a romantic moment in the heart of the storm. Spencer’s emotional plea from earlier in the episode even gets Lorenzo (Travis Winfrey) to make an appearance, despite still smarting from Alison’s recent betrayal. His arrival, however, may be too late for Alison.
An unexpected subplot of “Last Dance” involves the four girls’ mothers spending the night together first as chaperones for the pseudo-prom and later as a quartet of tipsy snoops who get locked in the DiLaurentis house by A earning the smallest taste of the fear their daughters have been living with for years. The episode also reveals the truth about Clark (Titus Makin Jr.), or at least enough to confirm he’s nothing but one of the show’s many red herrings. But as the prom concludes all eyes are on the missing Alison and her encounter with a hooded figure who, if you believe the tease, will finally show his face next week.
