DC Comics’ next big event begins here. Born out the the Rebirth reboot, which introduced that idea that Dr. Manhattan was responsible for the shitstorm that was The New 52, Doomsday Clock #1 returns us to the world of Watchmen. Despite his plan initially succeeding, Ozymandias has seen the truth exposed by the Rorschach journal and his world fall back into chaos.
The first issue of the twelve-issue maxi-series re-introduces us to the world of Watchmen along with a new, but apparently no less disturbed, Rorschach. After freeing the Mime and the Marionette, Rorschach and Ozymandias will begin their search for Dr. Manhattan who is now their last hope to save their world. However, he’s been busy playing in a different reality.
Honestly, I had little interest in this series going in, but the first issue is a strong set-up and I am now a little curious to see how events may unfold. I am surprised that almost the entirety of the issue takes place in the Watchmen reality, and I wonder just how Ozymandias and company plan on getting to the DCU. Worth a look.

I thought this would be awful but agree it was okay. I didn’t think the second issue was as good.
