Checking back in with Doctor Fate after a few months it seems Khalid Nassour is still struggling with understanding the full weight of what being Doctor Fate means, but he is getting better and handling his powers and processing the oblique advice he gets from Nabu.
Doctor Fate #10 opens with Doctor Fate attempting to free protesters from the basement of the Egyptian consulate when he’s attacked by ghosts. Trusting both Nabu and his own instincts, our hero eventually gets himself out of one sticky situation. However, after freeing the detainees he’s got whole new problems to deal with.
In a classic Peter Parker set-up, several of the comic’s issues deal with Khalid’s absence (he is in Egypt after all) and how his new responsibilities are hurting both his family life and school. Even after he gets himself free from the embassy our hero still has plenty of challenges to face. Worth a look.
